It can be hard to think of a city known to be 'Eternal' as somewhere that can be reduced to 5 things. Of course it can't and if you do go I encourage you see more than what's listed. Rome can only be truly seen as a local but if you're a tourist like me, then here's a wonderful list.
1) Trevi Fountain
one of the most popular destinations in Rome and probably one of the most beautifully designed masterpiece you'll see. Especially when the light shines through the water at night.
2) The Roman Forum and Palatine Hill
Where you truly will begin to see why Rome is known to be the Eternal City.
3) The Pantheon
4) Shopping
Whether it's designer or just souvenir, Rome is home to the very best of retail.
5) The Spanish Steps
Best seen in the quiet of the morning, with only the wandering locals to watch and wonder.
6) The Colosseum
A Lizzie McGuire moment favourite of mine, but also an architectural masterpiece.
7) Exploring the unknown
When in Rome, live as the locals do. Get lost down a side street and do something different. I can guarantee the city will not disappoint.
