I'll admit, when I first heard that yellow was the major trend of the season, I was confused. Then I became quite worried. I don't know about you, but whenever I wear anything brighter than black, I'm completely washed out. The perks of living in the UK. But then I started to really see the various shades of yellow that are taking the fashion world by storm this season and it just shows that a mere colour can be a revolutionary happiness in today's society. Emily Ratajkowski wears a yellow gown at the 2017 Golden Globe awards, pictured above, shining against the blood red carpet. From the catwalks to the streets, these are just some of the ways that makes the case for yellow.
Emma Stone, star of La La Land, brought joy to the cinema screens with a jovial colour palate to embrace the joy that seems to come with any musical movie.
Street style at London Fashion Week Men's 2017 kicked off this week, with many embracing the yellow trend.
The Golden Globes took place this week with these beautiful women all wearing varying shades of yellow.
Who can forget the drop of Beyonce's album Lemonade, particularly, 'Hold Up' where she wields a bat and beautiful gown, before smashing up a car.
Alicia Vikander dazzled in a pale yellow, embellished gown at the 2016 Oscar's where she picked up an award for Best Supporting Actress
Designers seem to create their own trends. But this is not to say that trends within themselves do not exist; these trends filter quickly from the catwalks to the high street and within a short period of time that trend will be the high point in fashion. Trends come and go, but it is important to remember that some things will stay. The creative aesthetic of a single designer, for example, resonates within them and is seen throughout their design. Fashion is all about personalisation. A designer may take a trend, but without that personal touch that makes one say, "that's so them", many designers would not be as popular as they are now.
