I've been lucky enough to get the best work experience assisting a stylist on photoshoots she does. Although I've only been to a few, I absolutely love it! I didn't quite realise the extent of the work that goes into shoots though.
When working on shoots like this, expect to work from very early in the morning to late at night, with not many breaks too, it can be tough. The people I've met have been extremely friendly and are brilliant at what they do. I thought I'd do a post about what it's really like. What was the most amazing aspect of this whole shoot was that this hotel was used for a Mario Testino shoot with Kate Moss. I repeat. I was standing in a place where Kate Moss has been. I almost died.
Kate Moss and Mario Testino's shoot was displayed in the room we shot in
The three beautiful models in their Balmain style dresses from Frock and Frill
Every now and then, the photographer would show us the shots, which just looked incredible
Half way through the day, the room was swapped and we changed them into their next outfit, before going to make-up to get retouched.
Each model had three different looks. This look was inspired by the nightwear to daywear trend. This has got to be the weirdest room I've ever seen. Every room had it's own theme with decor to match. This theme was Honky Tonky Afro, which says it all.
It was the best day I've had for a while and everyone was so lovely. Even though I was the baby there, everyone made me feel so welcome. The best part of days like this is meeting new people and networking, trying to get your name out there.
I'll make sure that all the people involved are mentioned on my portfolio page, once the images have come out and been edited, so watch out for that. If you can't wait that long then head on over to my Instagram page where they're all tagged. (https://www.instagram.com/helenarose1/)
Have a great week!
