The Land Of Gods

Greece. Blue, sparkling seas and golden sands. A paradise of philosophy, mythology and much more. I have, very recently, come back from the beautiful island of Sivota, located on the mainland of Greece.  It's such an amazing place to visit and I can't emphasize enough how lovely the people are and how pretty it is.

I would definitely recommend going to Mega Drafi if you like small and secluded beaches where you can relax but I loved Mega Ammos beach because it had a lovely restaurant with delicious food. There's also Mikri Ammos beach but that was a bit too lively for my family (not that we're boring) We had a beautiful balcony right at the top of the hotel, in the centre, so we had the a fantastic view. There was also a little train that took you to all the different beaches. I also had my first experience of the worst tasting alcohol, but it seems to be a delicacy in Greece, it goes by the name Ouzo. It smelt like sweets but tasted slightly of, what I can only think of, as disinfectant.
The food. Oh, the food. Greek food has always been my favourite, I don't know whether it's the fact I'm a quarter Greek or just that it's completely delicious, but it's perfect. I loved the Steak House and if you're ever in Sivota, it's a definite must.  If you love chicken as much as I do, go for the Chicken kontoslouvi. It's the best chicken I have ever tasted.
You can also travel to other island such as Parga, Corfu, Paxos and Anti-Paxos so you have a wide choice of things to do. We only did a boat trip to a beach that was secluded, but there was loads of people, so it wasn't really all that secluded. I'd also go to the harbor as it's a lovely place to eat and has amazing sunsets.
We stayed in the Mourtenemo Hotel, it's located close to the town so it's easy walking distance to many restaurants. The only downfall is Avis. Oh, Avis. She was our holiday rep and as much as she tried to be funny and tell jokes, no one seemed to laugh. I thought she was nice however, some reviews on Trip Advisor claims she eats all the cakes at the bakery.  Overall, the hotel was friendly.
Anyway, here are some pictures to show you just how lovely Greece is.
