Alexander McQueen | Savage Beauty

Fashion should be a form of escapism, and not a form of imprisonment.

I find beauty in the grotesque, like most artists.

A few weeks ago I got the chance to go to the Alexander McQueen exhibition at the Victoria and Albert museum in London. I can honestly say it was amazing. I'd heard about on various websites saying it was coming to London and I had to try and get tickets. So when my mum told me we were going I was so excited. I just wish I could show you what it was like but we couldn't take pictures which was annoying. Anyway, each room had a different collection that he'd created and they were just all so beautiful that I don't think I could pick my favourite. It went from the famous dress worn by Shalom Harlow, which is my favourite catwalk moment, all the way to Asylum, which was set in a mirrored cube. Each piece of clothing that was created was absolutely stunning.
After we had been to the exhibition, we went to a restaurant in South Kensington and sat outside because the weather was so beautiful. The restaurant was Comptoir Libanais And I had the falafel salad which was delicious but beware it has a lot of mint in it, and paired with a mint flavoured drink, can be quite overwhelming. But having a falafel salad reminded me of my Greece which is one of my favourite places on earth. My mum also got me a cute little butterfly as a souvenir-I doubt I'll ever forget this experience though.

If you're in London you should definitely visit the V&A because the exhibitions are always beautiful and they have a nice little courtyard with a fountain which made it even better. Anyway, I would definitely recommend the Alexander McQueen exhibition even if you're not a fashion fanatic as I am.
